As an example for transmission station our SDH station t Al-abasia central.

SDH station

SDH is a transmission protocol for high-speed, high capacity optical transmission systems.
An SDH transmission network is composed by connecting different types of Network Element (NE) through optical fiber. The transmission function of the SDH network (add/drop services, cross-connect services, self-healing, etc.) are performed through different NEs.
SDH went on to be deployed by almost all carriers that offered traditional Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) voice services.

Why did SDH emerge?
Information society requires:
1- A variety of telecommunication services.
2- Network that can transmit, switch and process a large amount of information.
3- Network to be digital, integrated, intelligent and personalized.
SDH provide universal standards for both electrical and optical interfaces, including standards on:
1- Digital signal rate levels.
2- Frame structure.
3- Multiplexing method.
4- Monitoring and management.
So, SDH equipment from different vendors can be easily interconnected.

Provision of SDH technology in some regional areas, e.g. eastern part of Cairo for the following reasons:
1-Introduction of a few additional links to establish SDH ring systems
2-Trunk network structure is rearranged and the network is operating according to the
agreed routing and dimensioning principles.
3-Simple introduction of an Intelligent Network and interfacing to increase mobile
services due to the new network structure.
4-Rapid growth of the number of subscriber lines is supported by the improved
network structure.
Building SDH station in Al-Abasia Central is one of the projects of huawei at Egypt. Our Company has finished this station as showing in the following figure:

Describing the steps of our work in this station:
1-fixing trays and the Optix racks:
Stating with fixing trays and the Optix racks to connect them to the service.
2-Cables laying:
Laying cables on the trays and tied the white Data cables by using MEYE CABLE
TIES.
3-connecting cables:
Connecting cables between the Optix racks and the patch panels by both data cables
and optical fiber.
4-punch cables to the patch panels:
5-connecting electric power
Also we connected all the colored electric cables from the electrical Box to all
Devices, also laying them on the trays and tied them by using MEYEL CABLE
TIES.

The showing is the main Power Distribution Box which contains the main power
Supply switches and the other spare one.
